While not nearly as devastating as your ordeal, something similar happened to me. Last summer my neighbor and I were walking our Yorkies and just as we approached a hedge that came up to the sidewalk, a large dog charged us and grabbed her dog since it got to hers first. Her dog was yelping and we were frantic trying to get her dog away from it while I was winding up Chloe's leash pulling her to me and holding Willow in her "papoose bag". The owner came out and called her dog off and she was laughing too! She said practically the same thing, "he won't hurt anyone". I told her I didn't see how she could say that since he had my friend's dog in it's mouth so she just turned and walked back into the house. She was good enough to take her dog with her. We were scared and furious with that woman's attitude. I don't understand ppl at all. Since then I am scared to walk my dogs and going to the park is just as bad if not worse and my yard has a picket fence and is not safe to let them run. It's pretty bad when you feel unsafe just out for a walk with your dogs............I'm happy your babies weren't injured.
