I belong to Columbia house. BUT: I have found that I buy a lot more used from a store like Hastings than them. I just bought 12 movies that were on my list for about 68 bucks. They just had a sale buy one used and get the second for $1. So they really avg. about 5 bucks a DVD.
Columbia house does also have some good sales. I think I got started with them for 12 movies for a total of about 22 bucks. They make up for it. I only have 1 more to buy~
