Default Big Men With Little Dogs

What a fantastic thread! When my DH and I decided to get a dog that we could train to be a therapy dog he said he really wanted a lab but knew it was not sensible because we had limited space.

During our search that took us almost two years, DH did his best to show interest. When we found our little guy I said to him- just you wait, this dog will be your biggest heartbreak.

We named our little guy Guinness, after one of DH's favorite beverages, a black and tan- bass beer on the bottom with dark guinness beer on top. l told him- look, he's even the same color!

Flash forward... We failed miserably with crate training because DH would sneak Guinness into bed in the middle of the night. He bought him a goose down jacket and got it altered to fit perfectly. DH got a doggy ride dog trailer and mounted it permanantly on his bike so he can take Guinness for an hour ride on Sundays. He hogs the handling of Guinness at obediance, rally, and agility training and therapy visits. DH even purchased a camo sling bag (not too fou fou) so he can sneak Guinness past security when he occasionally has to work at the office on Saturdays. He often jokes that he wants to write a book titled- Little Dogs Get A Bad Rap.

So... Deb Sillers of Amazing Yorkies, we need another dog!
