Omg DH tells me I better stop torturing the kids or else...

All the kids got baths this weekend. I usually spread it out because it kills my back to wash all 3 on the same day, but DH's son said he'd do Boo which really helped. So he is washing Boo & I washed Gracie Ruth on Sat. Sun morning before church I get the towels, shampoo, conditioner...etc out and started running the water so that it would get warm. Boo and G take one look at what's going on and high tail it to the living room and curl up together, making themselves as tiny as they can in the corner of the couch. They won't even look directly at me when I walk in to see what they are up to. They just cut there eyes quickly in my direction to see who's going to be snatched up and plunked down into the dreaded water chamber of horror. They look like a couple of fawns, hiding in the woods. Body, head, ears smashed as flat as can be. The dark bodies camouflaged by the brown leather couch. But Yogi, bless my little boys heart, is standing in the middle of the room happily looking at me. I say, "Yogi, come here sweetie, it's time for your bath." "Ok Momma, I wuv you, here I come, what's a bath? can I bring my toy? pick me up Momma, I wuv you sooo much." sigh...I felt so horrible knowing in just a second he was not going to be happy with his Momma.

I took him into the kitchen and start to lower him into the sink of warm water and his eyes started bugging out and he stuck his feet straight out to avoid the water. When he saw that wasn't going to work, he pulled them into his body as tight as he could. Finally he realized he had to put them down in order to keep his body out of the water. Poor Yogi Bartholomew Bear...about the only thing that he really hates is getting his feet wet. But he manned up and stood there like a good boy and let me bathe him. All interest in his toy was lost, no amount of coaxing to play with it would distract him from the horrible fact that...his...feet...where...wet... DH came into the kitchen just as we were almost finished and told him what a good boy he was being to stand there so quietly. "Poppa, tell Momma I'm clean enough and to stop, pleaseokthankyou."

Finally done and wrapped up snugly in a towel off to the bathroom we head to be dried. After it was all said and done, I pick him up and ask, "Yogi, do you still love your Momma?" My good little boy replied, "Yes Momma, I wuv you, but please don't do that to me again, ok?" He gives me a quick kiss on the nose and a little hug then off he goes to tell big sis & bro the harrowing experience he just 'barely' lived through. At some point I'm thinking he's going to understand what the word 'bath' means and will run and hide with the other 2. But for now, my sweet boy is the only one that comes when I call them for their bath time.
