I used small metal barrets that you bend a little and they pop open. I found them at the Dollar Store and the earring boutiques. They worked good once Gracie Ruths hair was long enough for a topknot but she still had 'bang' issues. I knew DH was a goner over this little girl when I came home one day to find that he'd put her topknot in with matching color scrunchie and barrets and that it all coordinated with her sweatshirt.
