Default Keeping our cities dog-friendly

Thor and I regularly go to a baseball field to let him get his zoom on. I was shocked to see that the signs have changed from "Dogs must be on leash" to "No dogs allowed"!!! I have heard that the SF mayor is trying to restrict dogs' access to parks, period. There are very few bonna fide dog parks in the city, and they are not split into big/small. And honestly, they are absolutely terrible. I never take Thor to those.

Mostly we go to where dogs are allowed on leash, and in certain areas everyone ignores the rule and has their dogs off leash. The dogs always seem well behaved and people pick up after their dogs (in most parks).

This was very frustrating for me because there are already so few places I can take Thor to run around, and he really needs it. No joke, he basically sprints for two miles or more when we go to this field. There are a few other parks, but I am breaking the rules by letting him off leash, and most of them have too many big dogs to be safe for Thor.

Anyway, I am interested in getting involved in keeping parks open for our furry friends! I really want to be able to take Thor to a park where he is allowed to be off leash and has an area free from larger dogs. Does anyone else have experience with this?
