Wow...it is very refreshing to see someone considering all the options and willing to step up and do what is in the best interest of their Yorkies, and the breed as a whole.

To answer your question, it is not recommended that you spay a female while she is in heat. It increased the chances of hemmoraging. Best to wait until the heat cycle is over, then do the spay.
