Lots of people up here have pets so I'm clueless.
I have a 15 year old high functioning autistic son. I got Lola for him as he has a service dog at school. He feeds her, takes her out, helps with grooming etc. It teaches him responsibility. Not to mention it forces interaction. We all know the therapeutic value of a pet. He just adores her.
His teacher and behavior specialist have both contacted my landlord and asked them to reconsider. For now I can keep her but I have to show proof of license, spay. shots, insurance, all kinds of stuff. I can keep her pending them contacting their attorney regarding liability issues. Ridiculous. It's not like she's a rotty/pitbull. She goes out for less than a minute to do her business. SHE'S AN INSIDE DOG!! So...for now we're safe. I just need to ride it out and see how it plays out. Keep us in your prayers!

That seems to be unfair! you own your own place, that shouldnt be a problem...however I do know some girl that owns a mobile home park and she does not allow outside dogs...Uh some people... hope everything turns out okay...I think I would re-read everything... best of luck
