Female in Heat and Aggression I have an 11 month old female that was supposed to be spayed Jan 7th, but went into heat last week...I also have an 8 month old male that was neutered last month and my daughter is visiting with her 6 month old male that is also neutered. These puppies have all previously gotten along well, with my little female only occasionally showing signs of jealousy when I would walk in holding my male. She is only 3.3 lbs and he is almost 6 lbs. When she has acted jealous in the past, she would growl and nip at him and it would only last a few seconds....well, in the last few days she has started to show much more aggression towards both of these males, especially towards my daughters little male that is closer to her size. Last night she really went after him and made him cry for longer than I have ever had any of them cry. There was not any serious damage, no blood, etc., and he is a little bit of a baby, but is this aggression due to her being in heat or is this due to her growing jealousy of other dogs? I have had to separate them this morning because when she first woke up and saw them, she started growling and snarling at them like she wanted to kill them both! HELP! Any suggestions at this point will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!My daughter has been here for 10 days and will be here for about 5 more days. These little males are the sweetest things together and normally she is, too! I don't know how to handle this. |
