I have read that it is better to spay before first heat to reduce cancer risk. Have also read that there is a chance she could have already started her heat cycle and she would bleed more. I have not observed any signs of heat yet. I need advice/opinions.Thanks in advance!
This is the right time, weight is fine, and the vet could confirm if her heat has started already. In that case, some will not spay until after her heat, and others will do it during the cycle but charge more.

What ever you do, definitely ask for pre-op blood work to assure that she has no other problems. I am presently dealing with liver issues discovered in my girl during pre-spay blood work, and many others here have had the same experience.

Good luck.
