That sounds pretty normal to me. Mine are awake at lunch and want to go out for a walk, then be fed, maybe play a little, then back to bed. A puppy will play more and stay awake more, but older doggies will just sleep. Both get on the bed and sleep all night too! I wouldn't say they are sound asleep at any time during the day, just resting.......waiting for any action!
