I ran into questions like these when I nannyed and some of the kids' parents were expecting again.

I agree-honesty is best, but since she's 6, you might not have to go into detail.

I also LOVE redirecting the question and saying to them "I would be happy to tell you about that, but first, how do YOU think it happens?" More often then not, they'll answer their own question in terms that they understand, and make you not so embarassed. Talking about a "special passage" where babies come out might be enough. She's 6-you don't have to get technical, and an answer like that might just be enough to satisfy her for now.

You would be surprised at how many kids think the baby comes out your belly button! Lots of little boys think that women "poop" out the baby too-it makes sense, right-you eat food, it's in your tummy, and then you poop, LOL!

Now, when she starts asking how the baby got IN there, (which may spring off the first conversation) you can probably dodge the question by saying something like "Mommy and Daddy really love each other, and decided that we wanted to have another baby in our family. After we made the decision together, a baby started growing in my tummy." That is answering, without giving away too much for a 6 year old. Plus, if she repeats it, it's the perfect answer
