Just like with every type of dog, you have to pick the maltese with the personality that will fit your lifestyle best. Their coats are harder to maintain if you keep them in a long coat and take them outside often, but if they are mostly inside dogs, you just have to keep their faces clean and stuff that you normally do with yorkies.
