I would practice this with you pup indoors first, and slowly move outdoors. I'm doing this with Tobi now, and it takes a little bit of patience, but it's starting to work. The trainer said that the purpose of this excercise is to keep control of your pup, and to keep your pup safe..that way if you take your baby shopping or are leaving home, you know your pup will be safe at your side.

That sounds like a really good idea! I think I'm going to try this with Max! Although, what I do now, b/c Max will run to the door if anyone is there, race in circles, barking maniacally, and I have to catch him and pick him up before I open the door, or he will rush whoever is there
. Maybe working with him when NOBODY's at the door would be a good plan, hehe.
They do learn fast though!
