I have worked with animals for 10 years now and i too saw a greyhound maul a medium sized dog. I broke up the mauling which left the dog in shock and the greyhound with a "out of it" look almost like it didn't realize what just happened. The other dog slowly recovered but i had nightmares of the mauling for weeks. Everythime i closed my eyes i would just see the dog being shaked. This is the greyhound way and needs to be only with owners who realize this. Keeping a muzzle on is the smartest thing to do when other "game " is around. By the way, this greyhound also lived with a small dog and never had a problem. I guess when the atmosphere is right their instints come alive. I am not a sue happy person but you need to make the owners of the greyhound accountable.
