| Sophia is a very vocal girl. While I am a believer in spirits I also know that Sophia has a tendency to yell at outside noises and if she gets a snoot full of someone cooking she is all over that! Sounds like she is trying to protect you from whatever she feels is a threat. She would do this sometimes with me (always when hubby was away). I would just walk thru the house with her, all lights on and show her that we had nothing to be afraid of. Now, my father passed away June 5, 2003, then my mother passed on June 26, 2005 and my grandmother on Oct 26, 2005. I kept having vivid dreams of my mother coming to me with messages. It felt so real at times I would wake smelling her perfume - weird I know. So.... when Sophia would bark at the air I figured it was my mom.

| alot of the barking is from shadows coming from near by windows and the wind blowing the trees causing the shadows on the wall to move. Next time your dog is barking at the wall the door the window check for shadows before anything else |

| Jake does something similar. He will be playing and then all of a sudden he will just stop and look at nothing. He will stare at a certain area for a minute or two. If I ask him what he's looking at, he just keeps looking back and forth from me to the same area. There's nothing there, but it's like he sees something that I don't. Or, maybe he hears something and he's just listening and it just looks like he's looking at a certain area. Eventually, he will go back to what he was doing. I don't know what it is, but my daughter and husband have seen him do it too. It's kinda weird, but he doesn't seem worried or scared, so I don't worry about it.

I notice she usually barks when she hears a noise outside, if Teddy barks or if someone rings the bell. I checked what she was looking at and there were no shadows or anything. She was like scared to go to the side of my bed so I walked back there to show her there was nothing there. Even London walked over there to sit in her princess chair She did it on and off but hasn't done it since that day. I'd like to think of it that it was either angels she was looking at or my dead dog Charlie. That perfume story is freaky, I wouldn't know what to think if that happened to me. I would be so confused. Maybe she was trying to tell you she is okay.

| You could try taking a pic of the area she's barking at. A lot of paranormal investigator types say that a spirit can manifest itself on camera. That may or may not answer the ghost question.
