| Can YORKIES & a PITT BULL Live Together??? HELP - My son bought a Blue American Pitt Bull puppy a few weeks ago & has split up with his girlfriend. He is back at living at our home with a Pitt Bull Puppy. We have not decided Yet if he can keep it here. I have 4 Yorkies & they all growl & bite at her when she comes near them. The Puppy is so playful & just wants to play - but they don't know that. The Yorkies are Jealous of her when she sits with me on the sofa. I know she will have to stay outside eventually in a separate area than the Yorkies play. I have heard about the Bad Reputation Pitts have. She is a very sweet puppy & I have heard that it is all about how you raise them.

| Can Yorkies & a Pitt Bull live together? No, No, I know that people love pitbulls but I would NEVER have one in my home, much less living with Yorkies. They are too unpredictable and Yorkies want to play with them. Please don't do that. Just my opinion but you will get many more.

| i think what is important to find out is the disposition of the parents are... because puppies are sweet... but if the parents had aggression then chances are good this puppy might have a bit of that... i don't know much about pit bulls but i do know that some of the dog's attitudes depend on the parents... |

| If raised probably, I would think so. I think Brooke (stedmansmommy) has a pit bull (mix maybe?) in addition to her Yorkies so maybe you can help you out.

| Just ask Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer. But the Pitt Bull MUST MUST MUST be calm and submissive to everyone, including the yorkies. Pit Bulls are dogs bred to fight, and they have that tendency, but can be calm submissive dogs if they are taught to be. The Dog Whisperer is on the National Geographic channel. I would watch that and you will get some good ideas of how to train him right. ~Melody

| We had a pitbull years ago...His name was Homer.....He was probably the best dog we have ever had....I never had a qualm about him at all....We miss him terribly....And then we also had a girl named Annie that was the meanest nastiest little girl I ever saw....I totally believe that each dog is different...And training...training...training is the most import rule of thumb... I would check with a trainer and a vet and get their opinions...And then follow your instinct....lol...Alot of help huh... Joyce

| HI, I have two Yorkies fixing to be eight. I also have six red nosed pitts. We have raised the pitts to be submissive to the Yorkies. We have even gotten our pitts at the age of two and they still submit. My male yorkie is even very agressive towards them and they just shrug it off. It is really cute to watch the pitts roll over on their backs in front of the yorkies. My male is four pounds and my pitts range from 35 to 85lbs. It is all in how you raise them. Good luck.

My son met the Father but not the mother to the pup. She is from WatchDog Kennel BloodLines Straight from their website: Our pitbulls are bred for intelligence, loyalty, companionship and watchdog capabilities. From the finest bloodlines both coasts have to offer.

All of the Pitts they have seen are calm except one that was trained as a watchdog. I called the Trainer I had for the Yorkies - but she moved out of state. I have another trainer to contact this weekend. This one is Blue color with bright blue eyes, 3 white paws & white on her chest. Thanks for your honesty, kim

| I wouldn't, but each to his own. I always think about the owners who end up dead. That is just me. I would never put my yorkie at risk.
