Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | ![]() Here is my Halle with her ears taped. And one showing her ears up! Shaving the ears first, I use masking tape to tape them. You can either leave the ears flat and place a piece of tape on the front and back of them OR fold the ear vertically and place a piece of tape around it. I then tape the two ears together as the weight of the tape can make them lean to the side. I normally leave them on for 2-3 days then off for a few, then if needed, I redo the steps again. I've done it with two of my yorkies; had success both times. With Lexie, it took about 2-3 weeks, but I only had to leave Halle's ears taped for 1 1/2 days and they were up!

| ![]() I put three layers of masking tape together and then cut triangles from that to fit the inside of the ear. I stick the triangles to the inside of each ear then put one long piece of tape across the front and back of both ears to keep them in proper position on top of the head. I always use new tape, after it gets old it either doesn't stick well or it sticks too much. I use the 1.5 inch wide tape. Be sure to shave the ears first so it won't pull the hair when you take the tape off. I leave them up for three days and then take the tape off for at least a couple of days. I shave the ears at five weeks and start to tape at six. Good Luck!! |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I start shaving at 3 weeks. At 5 weeks, I will tape ears if they have not popped up on their own. |

successfully...i find the taping difficult and painful, and it pulls the hair off the ears.. ![]() | |
